A Place to Call "Home"

“Home” the Summer of ‘77 was our tiny camper parked in a family friend’s backyard, hooked up to their garden hose, while my dad was between jobs. That same summer, at 13, I worked full-time, 6 days a week in the baking hot, dirty cornfields of Illinois, covered in so much pollen it would burn the areas where your sweat collected. By 9th grade I had lived in 9 different homes, including our camper, in 9 different cities . . . the last time we would own a home I was in 1st grade.

A Letter From My Mom

Twenty-nine years ago I stepped out of a comfortable career and into the world of Real Estate and self-employment. I never expected to follow my mom’s path. She began her Real Estate career when I was in 5th grade, becoming a licensed Real Estate Broker in 8 states and managing offices for 3 of the nation’s 10 largest real estate companies. She spent decades selling, managing, and training the Realtors of today. Having only lived in Rochester for a year, my Mom wrote the letter below for me to share with potential clients I interviewed with as I began to build a new career and business.
