Harlan Furbush

Associate Real Estate Broker

Harlan began selling real estate as a full-time agent in 1992 and was a success from the start with nearly $2 million in sales in his first year. Today Harlan has helped over 2,000 families buy and sell homes in the greater Rochester area.

He has helped build homes, too! Harlan’s grandfather built homes, his brother builds homes, and his first job out of college involved swinging a hammer. There’s no better way to experience real estate than from the foundation up!

Harlan’s passion for photography makes for a powerhouse combination with his real estate career. His interest began in college and continues today, staying on top of the latest trends and taking photos for personal enjoyment – some of his images have also been awarded recognition! You can also catch him as a host and speaker at Rochester’s largest and most successful Home Buyer’s Workshop.

“ I love staging homes because it combines two of my favorite things: helping people and houses! There’s nothing better than meeting new people and assisting them as they tackle the adventure of listing a house for sale.”

What was your first job?
My first job was at Abbot’s Frozen Custard. It was a great job because I could walk to work and the yummy custard didn’t hurt!

Are you a cat person or a dog person?
I’m a cat person who lives with a big and furry dog! Our family adopted a golden retriever and he’s sweet and cuddly and lovely…the only problem? He doesn’t purr!

Have you ever been scuba diving?
I haven’t been scuba diving or bungee jumping, I have been skydiving. I jumped out of a plane when I was 21 years old. It was a tandem jump, which was a good thing because I panicked a bit and the instructor had to pull the cord to release the parachute. That was the last time that I felt like skydiving would be a fun idea!
